Create a custom payment method
📋 Overview
This guide will walk you through the process of creating a custom payment method in Book It Fast. Custom payment methods allow you to offer additional payment options to your guests beyond the standard credit card and online payment methods.
Time required: 2-3 minutes
Prerequisites: Admin access to your Book It Fast account
1– Navigate to Custom Payment Methods
From your Book It Fast dashboard, navigate to the Custom Payment Methods section. You can find this in the left sidebar under “Organisation Settings”.

Once you click on “Custom Payment Methods” in the sidebar, you’ll see the option to create a new payment method. Click the “Create” button or navigate directly to the create form.
2 – Enter the Payment Method Name
In the “Name” field, enter a descriptive name for your custom payment method. This name will be visible to your guests when they’re selecting a payment option during booking.

💡 Naming Best Practices
Choose a clear, descriptive name that guests will easily understand. Examples: “Bank Transfer”, “Cash on Arrival”, “PayPal”, “Gift Voucher”, etc.

3 – Configure Payment Method Settings
Configure the two toggle options according to your needs:

⚙️ Setting Options Explained
- Is Active: When enabled (orange), this payment method will be available for guests to select during booking. Disable this if you want to temporarily hide the payment method without deleting it.
- Include Notes: When enabled (orange), guests will be able to add notes or special instructions when selecting this payment method. This is useful for methods like “Bank Transfer” where guests might need to provide reference numbers.
In this example, both options are enabled, making the payment method active and allowing guests to include notes when selecting it.
4 – Save the Payment Method
Once you’ve entered the name and configured the settings, you have three options to complete the process:
🔘 Button Options
- Create: Saves the payment method and returns you to the payment methods list
- Create & create another: Saves the current payment method and immediately opens a new form to create another one
- Cancel: Discards all changes and returns to the payment methods list
Click the “Create” button to save your new custom payment method. The system will create the payment method and it will immediately become available for use in your booking system (if you enabled “Is Active”).
✅ Success!
Your custom payment method is now created and ready to use. Guests will see this option when making bookings, and you can manage it from the Custom Payment Methods section of your dashboard.
📚 Additional Tips
Managing Payment Methods: You can edit, disable, or delete custom payment methods at any time from the Custom Payment Methods list.
Guest Experience: Custom payment methods appear alongside standard options like credit cards in your booking flow.
Reporting: Bookings made with custom payment methods are tracked in your reports just like any other payment method.
